In case you don’t already know, Hosting Tech Magazine was a free print magazine founded by Bruce Waldack in the year 2000. The magazine was mailed out free to all qualified industry members who subscribed. It quickly became the leading monthly print publication to the Internet hosting segment. Later, in 2002 Hosting Tech was recognized for its quality, by winning three Apex awards for Excellence in Trade Publication, Editorial and Production categories. Hands down, it was the best magazine in the industry.
“Bruce is an early pioneer of the Internet and is widely regarded as a leading expert on Internet architecture and hosting infrastructure…†He was the original founder of Digital Nation, one of the first dedicated hosting businesses. Waldack later sold Digital Nation to Verio in 1999 for a whopping 100 million dollars in cash! His experience and knowledge of the hosting industry is phenomenal. Waldack now serves as managing director, principal and chief technology visionary for Dome Capital, LLC . Why Did Hosting Tech Go Out of Print? Even though Hosting Tech Magazine was awesome, it was a free print magazine. I’m sure you can imagine how expensive it would be to print and distribute a free, quality hosting magazine. How could they afford it? The expenses were covered only by advertisers. As you know, the industry of 2 years ago was tough and the advertising climate was not good. As a result, expenses could no longer be covered by advertising and Hosting Tech had to go into hibernation. Bruce Waldack had to make what I’m sure was, a difficult decision to sell Hosting Tech. Robert Marsh’s Everyone’s Internet, Inc. acquired Hosting Tech from Dome Capital, LLC in 2003. While owned by Marsh, Hosting Tech continued to remain in a state of hiatus. Later in 2003, iNET Interactive purchased Hosting Tech from Everyone’s Internet, Inc . As we arrive back into the present, iNET Interactive brings Hosting Tech back to you with added features! We are going to have fun, give stuff away, be informative and maybe even a little inspirational every now and then. The engine is just getting revved up again for the first time in 2 years. Since we’re just getting warmed up, it can only get hotter from here!
