Vancouver, Washington - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - October 5, 2005 - Domain registrar and web hosting company, Dotster, Inc., has announced an agreement with DotPH Technologies, Inc, makers of Calliope, to provide a web-based blog creation tool for Dotster’s customers.

Dotster plans to bundle the web-based blog creation application with a new hosting package tailored to bloggers. The company reviewed several blog packages and chose Calliope because its intuitive, web-based interface gives even absolute Internet beginners access to the full-range of blogging capabilities.

According to Erin O’Connell, Dotster’s Senior Marketing Manager for Premium Managed Services, “Our hosting packages have always included complementary blogging capabilities, but users needed some knowledge of a coding language like PHP or ASP to take advantage of them. By offering Calliope as an option, every Dotster customer can participate in the self-publishing revolution with an individual, highly customized blog.”

The blogging interface includes the ability to post entries, save entries as drafts, submit entries via e-mail, post photo and video galleries (including thumbnails), and the ability to add and manage comments, categories, and tagboards. The unique Pay4Access feature allows bloggers to earn revenue from content they upload onto their blogs.

Unlike most blog tools, Calliope’s interface includes a robust Design Editor that allows users to customize every aspect of the blog’s look and feel. Dotster’s blog offering will also include RSS syndication and “plug and play” integration with third-party applications including Yahoo Messenger, IM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, Skype, FWD, Friendster, SMS, and text-messaging.
