Scottsdale, Arizona - (via THE HOSTING NEWS) - August 9, 2005 - The Go Daddy Group, Inc., parent company of GoDaddy.com, announced today that it has added toll-free 800 numbers to its Fax Thru Email service which debuted earlier this year, and which allows customers to send and receive faxes over the Internet via any email client (e.g., WebMail, Outlook, Eudora, etc.).
With Go Daddy’s expanded offering, users now have the option of selecting either a toll-free number starting with the prefixes ”800”, ”866”, or, a local Phoenix area phone number for their fax service.
In addition to being able to choose either a toll-free or local number, consumers can select from a variety of Fax Thru Email service and pricing packages. Go Daddy offers a ”pay-as-you-go” month-to-month plan, or, a more economical, pre-paid 12 month plan. Each plan offers Economy, Deluxe or Premium packages, priced according to the number of telephone minutes
available for faxing within each 30 day calendar period.
Consumers who select the toll-free number can purchase the Economy package, which comes with 100 minutes, for $14.95/mth (monthly), or $11.96/mth (pre-paid 12 month plan); the Deluxe package for toll-free numbers has 200 minutes and costs $19.95/mth (monthly), or $15.96/mth (pre-paid 12 month plan). Finally, the Premium plan has 400 minutes and is priced at $29.95/month (monthly), or $23.96/mth (pre-paid 12 month plan). And with toll-free numbers, faxes that are both sent and received are deducted from the user’s total monthly minute allotment.
Bob Parsons, President and Founder of Go Daddy described the new service, ”To date, Go Daddy remains the only domain registrar to develop and offer a fax service to its customers. Still, we expanded the offering further, in direct response to consumer input. It is our guiding philosophy to continuously build upon existing product offerings, so that consumers continue to view Go Daddy as the one-stop shop for all of the Internet products and services they need for themselves or their business.”
Go Daddy’s Fax Thru Email service converts inbound faxes to a PDF file and routes them to an email address of the customer’s choosing, where they can be downloaded onto the customer’s computer. Outbound faxes may be sent from either the customer’s email address or Fax Thru Email account, to a designated fax number (which can be another Fax Thru Email account or, a traditional fax machine).
A web-based management interface tracks all inbound and outbound fax activity. With Fax Thru Email, users can rid themselves of a fax machine, printer cartridge and a separate expensive telephone line, since all that is needed is a computer and an email address.
