Scottsdale, Arizona - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - December 14, 2006 - In the latest Netcraft report, domain registrar, GoDaddy.com, is credited with a 10.5 percent overall market share for Certificate Authorities. In addition, GoDaddy.com is noted as the Certificate Authority destined to continue its growth trend.

Rich Miller, an industry analyst for Netcraft Ltd. remarked, ”Go Daddy has shown impressive growth since becoming a Certificate Authority two years ago. With its current rate of growth and the recent consolidation in the SSL market, Go Daddy is on track to become the number two players in the SSL market worldwide within the next year.”

Go Daddy’s SSL Certificates were also credited by the industry analyst, with securing 2985 new SSL-enabled web sites in November, more than double the number for the previous month. Once again, Go Daddy led all hosting companies in SSL-enabled sites; nearly double that of the next-best performer in November.

SSL Certificates enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption of online transactions and communications. In addition to the Turbo SSL and High Assurance products, Go Daddy has announced plans to support the new Extended Validation certificate guidelines recently published by the CA/Browser forum and supported in Internet Explorer 7.
