Pompano Beach, Florida - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - November 4, 2005 - Domain name registrar, Moniker.com, has won a secure domain registration award presented at the T.R.A.F.F.I.C. Domain Name Conference in Delray Beach Florida. The award was given to registrars that have been especially diligent and cooperative in working with registrants to help them prevent hijacking and recover stolen domains.

Howard Neu, recently elected Secretary-Treasurer of the WADND commented on the honor, ”We are proud to recognize Moniker with one of our special awards for secure domain name registration. Moniker has a tremendous security record and they work very hard to protect their customers’ domain names.”

Monte Cahn, CEO of Moniker.com had this to say, ”We are very proud to receive a special award from WADND. Our staff is very dedicated to domain asset security and we have never had a domain name stolen. We have an extensive security process. Newly registered domain names are automatically locked in the customer’s account and at the domain registry to ensure that only an authorized administrator can transfer those domains. If the approved administrator unlocks a domain name, and the domain transfer doesn’t go through in 10 business days, the domain is automatically relocked to the account. And, all transferred domain names have an audit trail that allows us to track down to the date and time of the domain transfer attempt, providing an additional level of domain name protection.”

The World Association of Domain Name Developers (WADND) was formed in 2004 to create a worldwide organization where Internet users could find desired results with maximum efficiency and web vendors could achieve profitability through the demand created by an unlimited supply of “quality” visitors. WADND will also awarding seals that registrars meeting high level standards in security and customer service will be able to display on their websites.

”At Moniker.com we are passionate about domain name security”, added Eric Harrington, President of Moniker. ”We set all accounts to ‘HIGH SECURITY’ which requires email verification for most critical changes such as DNS, Registrant Changes, and Transfers. We are one of a few registrars that have an opt in domain theft guard policy which denies these requests unless specifically authorized by the registrant and we are the only registrar that has executive review of every transfer out request by at least 3 employees including an officer of the company in an effort to verify the validity of such requests. Finally, personal contact is made to each registrant if there are any questions about the legitimacy of the request.”
