Network Solutions, the first and world’s leading registrar of domain names and Web-related services, today announced the launch of its Country-code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs) service. Customers who wish to differentiate local market content and create a targeted global Web presence can choose from six new ccTLDs offered from Network Solutions (www.networksolutions.com), including extensions for the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Austria, New Zealand and Mexico.

For a limited time, customers can register United Kingdom extensions (.co.uk, org.uk, .me.uk) for only $6.99 a year, and the Germany extension (.de) for only $11.99 a year — a competitive pricing structure that sets Network Solutions’ ccTLD service apart from other offerings in the sector. All the ccTLDs are offered through Network Solutions and may be registered by anyone, from any country.

“The use of the Internet continues to rise outside of the United States and we expect it to climb rapidly in Europe, Asia and Latin America over the next few years(1),” said Network Solutions Chairman and CEO Champ Mitchell. “With a ccTLD extension, our customers can expand their customer base by offering specific in-language content and location information on their Web sites.”

Customers can register ccTLDs to prevent unauthorized use of trademarks, brands and licensed names. In addition, ccTLDs complement existing .com and .net domain names, by broadening a customer’s marketing to include an international audience. The ccTLDs are as easy to use as a .com domain name. These domain extensions allow customers to create an in-language Web site and display different site content for various cultures around the world and are widely recognized in the countries they represent.

The ccTLDs use many of the same features as the widespread .com and .net domain extensions, including Network Solutions’ easy-to-use account management tools, advanced DNS service and auto renew.
