Phoenix, Arizona - (Cheap Hosting Directory) - September 21, 2005 - Leadpile.com is predicting thatE-commerce sales will likely surpass the One Trillion Dollar Mark by 2012.
The Census Bureau of the Department of Commerce recently announced that theestimate of U.S. retail e-commerce sales for the second quarter of 2005,adjusted for seasonal variation and holiday and trading-day differences, butnot for price changes, was $21.1 billion, or 2.2 percent of total sales.
Leadpile reports that that the recent focus on America’s aging populationhas blinded many experts from seeing the explosive growth that the “next generation” of “Younger Super Internet Consumers” will bring to E-commerce.
According to Andy Jacob, CEO of Leadpile.com, “We are the first company to say 1 Trillion Dollars in E-commerce sales while keeping a straight face. While America’s aging population has many economists making bold predictions regarding Social Security and Health Care, we prefer to talk about the next wave of “Younger Super Internet Consumers” who will push e-commerce sales into another planet altogether.”
Jacob says that e-commerce sales have the potential to make up 25% of all sales in the United States by 2012.
Jacob added, “The convergence of the aging baby boom population and the new ‘Younger Super Internet Consumer’ will make for an explosive combination in the next 7 years. Twenty percent of the United States ppulation is under the age of 14 years old. They represent a portion of the next phase of ‘Younger Super Internet Consumer,’ and they will be unlike any consumer in US History. This ‘Younger Super Internet Consumer’ will use the Internet in every facet of their life pushing Internet Sales to levels most people are not able to believe.”
