Houston, Texas - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - December 27, 2005 - Greatmail LLC, a Houston-based email hosting provider is inviting guests to preview its new webmail application. Scheduled for release in early 2006, Greatmail Version 3 is highlighted by several design changes that enhance functionality of the webmail program on both desktop and mobile web browsers.

To better serve the needs of the growing number of handheld users, Greatmail Version 3 is programmed in XHTML (Extensible Hypertext Markup Language). This programming language is used to build web pages that display clearly on PDAs and mobile devices. The XHTML standard will also improve deployment of future webmail updates.

Greatmail Version 3 comes complete with reliable spam filtering provided through SpamAssassin’s Bayesian auto-learning capability. Additionally, a new “learn spam” feature allows users to manually train the spam filter to learn from incorrectly classified messages. Users may also set preferences to adjust the filter’s sensitivity and the delivery action to be taken when a message is identified as spam.

Address book improvements now allow users to automatically add recipients to the address book when composing a new message. The address book also supports auto-completion of the To, Cc and Bcc fields. A new, rewritten spellchecker allows for inline word replacement. A new download module allows users the option to download message attachments in a zip file.

Individuals seeking web based and POP3 compatible email accounts may choose from one of three plans depending on storage requirements. Entry level Plan 1 includes 1 gigabyte of storage and costs $49.95 per year. Intermediate level Plan 2 includes 3 gigabytes of storage and costs $99.95 per year. Advanced level Plan 3 features 6 gigabytes of storage and costs $159.95 per year.

Greatmail also provides enterprise class email hosting through server clustering and raid array file storage. Email hosting clusters are equipped with load balanced mail servers and Network Appliance file servers. All Greatmail business plans provide a managed email hosting solution and include firewall security, server level virus scanning, user customizable spam filtering, mail forwarding, vacation messages and auto responders. Greatmail provides phone and email technical support and offers DNS hosting and domain name registrations.

Greatmail’s servers are located at dedicated climate-controlled facilities equipped with complete power protection via on-site UPS and diesel generators, pre-action fire suppression and direct connections to the major internet backbones. 24-hour network supervision and automated system monitoring ensure server uptime and performance.
