Everyone.net Announces 100 Education Customers Now Use its Outsourced Email

Cal State University Channel Islands outsources email to reduce cost of
providing communication solution to students in the face of state budget
cuts

San Jose, CA. December 1, 2003 — Everyone.net, a leading provider of
affordable, carrier-class email services, today announced its 100th
education customer, as California State University Channel Islands selects
Everyone.net to provide an email box to every enrolled student. The
university is deploying Everyone.net’s Web-based email service to save money
over internally-managed alternatives, while still bringing full-featured
email to students.

According to Peter Mosinskis, Coordinator of Web Services for CSU Channel
Islands, the university looked into internally-managed email, but a
cost-comparison showed significant money and IT staff resources could be
saved by outsourcing to Everyone.net.

The public university is facing severe budget cuts from the state of
California, even as it is expected to grow from 2,300 students enrolled
today, to 15,000 students served by 2025. Such budget cuts and growing
student populations reflect trends that are triggering the use of outsourced
services such as Everyone.net’s.

Everyone.net allows the university to roll out full-featured email
cost-effectively, with no capital expenditures, and to scale with the
student growth.

"We felt that because Everyone.net currently handles large volumes of email,
they are a dependable partner. Plus, their email service has strong spam and
virus protection, and a complete feature set, which were requirements,"
Mosinskis stated.

"We didn’t want the educational goals of this email system to be obscured by
spam," Mosinskis explained. "Our pilot test with students indicates they
are very pleased with the customizable levels of spam protection."

Everyone.net’s email service includes mailboxes with user and administrator
controls, plus custom storage, anti-spam and virus protection, and other
functionality. The service allows administrators to implement tailored
configurations that meet all student privacy and data-security regulations,
and to control the look and feel of the login page.

"Today we serve 100 schools, universities and other learning institutions
with services from web email for students and faculty to affinity email for
college sports and alumni groups to comprehensive solutions including Web,
IMAP, POP, SMTP, spam and virus protection for entire campuses, said Josh
Mailman, VP of Marketing for Everyone.net.

Everyone.net’s email service is built on a scalable, reliable messaging
platform that provides rich functionality and great flexibility at a low
cost to its customers.
