I was actually beginining to wonder about this as I have been trying to get of a particular sites list for a few months now.  Each time i click the remove from list option but I keep getting the messages from them.

Its the only site I have encountered doing it mind you, every other mailing list I join then decide to leave seems to be pretty ok with the fact Im no longer interested in them.
