Interland, a leading provider of Web hosting and online services forsmall and medium-sized businesses, today announced it has attained GoldCertified status in the Microsoft Partner Program with competencies inAdvanced Infrastructure Solutions and in Network InfrastructureSolutions, recognizing Interland’s expertise and total impact in thetechnology marketplace.

As a Gold Certified partner, Interland has demonstrated expertise withMicrosoft technologies and proven its ability to meet customers’ needs.Microsoft Gold Certified partners receive a rich set of benefits,including access, training and support, giving them a competitiveadvantage in the marketplace.

As one of the requirements for attaining Gold Certified Status,Interland had to declare at least one Microsoft Competency. MicrosoftCompetencies are designed to help differentiate a partner’scapabilities with specific Microsoft technologies to customers lookingfor a particular type of solution. Each competency has a unique set ofrequirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent thespecific skills and services that partners bring to the technologyindustry. Interland joins the Microsoft Partner Program withcompetencies in both Advanced Infrastructure Solutions and in NetworkInfrastructure Solutions.

The Advanced Infrastructure Solutions Competency is designed forpartners with proven expertise in designing and/or implementing complexinfrastructure solutions such as Active Directory-based and MicrosoftIntegration Server design and deployment solutions, or MicrosoftExchange Server migration or deployment solutions. Because customersare increasingly asking to do more with less, partners with theAdvanced Infrastructure Solutions Competency can identify their uniqueskill in helping customers access management solutions, improvingoperational efficiency and reducing security risks

“Our industry partners allow us to deliver high-quality solutions andapplications to our customers. And we’re always looking at ways toimprove our relationships,” said Paul Flessner, senior vice presidentof the Server Platform Division at Microsoft. “Solutions Competenciesenable Microsoft to provide resources and training to partners seekingto meet, and even surpass, customer needs. The competencies alsoprovide industry partners with a way to showcase their expertise tocustomers who depend on them for services, such as building theircritical infrastructure needs such as storage and hosting solutions.”

Microsoft Gold Certified Partners enrolled in the NetworkingInfrastructure Solutions Competency have proved their competency inimplementing technology solutions based on either the Microsoft WindowsServer 2003 or Windows 2000 Server operating system, with a particularfocus on Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 and Windows SmallBusiness Server 2003. These implementations may include craftingsolutions that connect Windows-based servers, PC locations and theInternet; installing a server farm; or building a small-businessWindows Server stand-alone solution that includes file and printcapabilities.
