Upgrades Based On Customers’ Needs Make Dedicated Server Offerings User-friendlier

ATLANTA (Oct 23, 2003) — Interland (Nasdaq: INLD), a leading provider of Web hosting and online services for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today the immediate availability of Windows Sever 2003 and RedHat Linux 9.0 operating systems, and the PLESK 6.0 control panel for its managed dedicated hosting customers. As part of the release, Interland has optimized the Windows and Linux operating systems for its customers by adding specific tools and components to speed setup and enhance both security and performance in a Web server environment.

Driven by customer input, Interland enhanced both standard operating system builds for Web serving by improving security and pre-loading servers with a number of software tools and applications. Because Interland has added these key components to its standard dedicated hosting plans, users now have less work to do when preparing a server to run in an Internet serving environment.

The additions to the already strong set of Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft .NET Framework features for Interland’s managed dedicated Windows-based customers include:
· Inclusion of software demanded by developers such as Software Artisans ASPStudio, cyScape BrowserHawk, and more
· Ability to utilize various e-mail protocols,
· Creation of Automated Deployment Service (ADS) for Windows for efficiency,
· Upgrade to IIS 6.0 increasing Web serving reliability and providing a better user interface,
· Support Visual Studio.NET,
· ASP logins for more effective database use, and
· Upload files previously not standard on the Windows Server 2003.

Interland’s managed dedicated Linux customers can also take advantage of an optimized version of RedHat Linux 9.0 designed specifically to function as a secure, high performing Linux hosting environment. Interland’s optimized version of Linux 9.0 removes some of RedHat’s standard installation functions meant for desktop machines and known to cause security and performance issues when running in an Internet serving environment. Additions to Interland managed dedicated, optimized Linux 9.0 include:
· FrontPage 2002 extension with Apache version 2,
· Apache version 2 configured to increases the number of sessions, and
· Up2Date package server so Interland can proactively post software patches released by RedHat on customer servers for easy downloading.

For customers that want the "out of the box" version of Linux, Interland also offers the standard version of RedHat Linux 9.0 and Linux 8.0. This is especially helpful for developers and resellers with applications based on specific configurations and settings on the Linux operation system.
In addition, managed dedicated Linux users now have access to PLESK 6.0 to help them more effectively and efficiently manage their online presence. With this control panel upgrade, users can:
· Automate client, domain or account creation,
· Monitor and manage groups of servers from a single interface,
· Facilitate multiple IP Name-Based Virtual hosting, allowing system administrators to allocate system resources in uniquely isolated reselling accounts, and
· Customize automated notifications by system users.
