Internet America, Inc. a leading Internet service provider, today announced that it has acquired the assets of My Linux ISP, a Houston, Texas based ISP primarily serving business customers.

Privately-held My Linux ISP was started in 1999 to provide Internet access solutions and related services to businesses and individuals looking for a high-quality service provider. My Linux ISP currently provides high-speed Internet access to approximately 1,500 residential and corporate customers. As part of the acquisition, Brian Walters, My Linux ISP’s founder, will become the Director of Operations - Houston for Internet America.

This acquisition is the third one announced by Internet America in the last 60 days. Acquiring My Linux ISP is in keeping with Internet America’s newly announced strategy to focus on acquiring ISPs in the region with loyal customer bases who can take advantage of the economies of scale that Internet America can provide for their operations.
