MSDN Logidex .NET Library Off To Fast Start

Microsoft .NET Developers Download More than 500 Copies From New Online Resource in First Three Weeks

PITTSBURGH-November 20, 2003-LogicLibrary™, the leading provider of software asset management tools, today announced that the MSDN Logidex .NET Library is quickly being adopted by .NET developers and architects. Since becoming available on October 28 at http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/logidex, there have been more than 500 downloads of the Logidex add-in for Visual Studio .NET and over 60 requests for trials of a hosted Logidex .NET Library that allows users to add their own software development assets (SDAs) to the library and map them to the Microsoft patterns and practices. Additionally, LogicLibrary has already added new and valuable content to the site.

The first third-party tool to be hosted on the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN), the Logidex .NET Library contains pre-loaded Microsoft .NET Framework-based software development assets created by Microsoft’s Platform Architectural Guidance (PAG) Group, including Enterprise Solution Patterns, Application Blocks, and Reference Applications and Architectures. Since its launch, LogicLibrary has added the Service Interface pattern and has updated the Data Transfer Object pattern in the Enterprise Solution Patterns.

The Service Interface pattern describes how an application can be designed as a collection of software services, each with a service interface through which consumers of the application may interact with the service. These types of patterns are critical for companies moving to or implementing a service-oriented architecture. As new technologies, services and standards arrive, LogicLibrary will continually add more patterns and related artifacts to this MSDN resource.

"Developer reaction to the MSDN Logidex .NET Library has been outstanding," said Greg Coticchia, president and CEO of LogicLibrary. "The activity in the first few weeks alone demonstrates that .NET developers have recognized the importance of SDA management tools. Developers and architects working with .NET are now able to experience the benefits of the MSDN Logidex .NET Library as they create, migrate and integrate enterprise applications."

Logidex is a collaborative software development asset (SDA) management solution that simplifies the creation, migration and integration of enterprise applications. It represents inherently complex, enterprise application environments in a graphical, intuitive way. Logidex is the only SDA management solution that offers model-based searching, out-of-the-box assets, measurements and metrics-all within Microsoft .NET development environments.

On December 9th at 1:00 pm ET, Brent Carlson, co-founder and vice president of technology for LogicLibrary, will present a free Webcast titled "MSDN .NET Library." This seminar will explain how developers and architects can find the patterns and best practices needed to address application design and development issues as they work within the Microsoft .NET Framework.
