Los Angeles, California - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - June 23, 2006 - A class action lawsuit concerning the “right” to limit free speech on the Internet, led by indexed directory and search engine for children, KinderStart.com, will be defended by Internet giant, Google. Thehearing is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2006 in United States Federal Court, 280 S. First Street, Courtroom #3, San Jose, California. While the hearing is open to members of the press and the public, cameras will not be permitted in the courtroom.

The lawsuit was filed in Federal court on March 17, 2006. According to the company, Google’s co-founder, Larry Page, declared that a search engine should be ”like the mind of God.” Victor Goodman, Founder of KinderStart.com commented, ”It’s clear Google is acting like God as they determine what we mortals shalt and shalt not see. Is this company that censors speech and ideas in China now doing it in the USA? Google decides what news we get, what sites come up, and what sites disappear — in effect, what we buy and think. This case is about far more than Kinderstart; it is about our freedom to know, speak and choose without a self-appointed Gatekeeper.”

KinderStart is an indexed directory and search engine focused on children zero to seven. Its team of indexers drew upon early childhood and media experts under the direction of Sara Lewis, an early childhood expert and with an acclaimed media background. The KinderStart Project began in May of 2000, with funding from a group of private investors, including the Ayzenberg Group, whose client list includes Disney and Microsoft. KinderStart utilizes original code running on the Linux (GNU) Operating System. Programming Languages used include PERL, PHP with PostgresSQL as the database. Additional functionality includes modified and unmodified Open Source Code.

Google’s enterprise business grew more than 100 per cent last year, and currently has more than 4,000 customers worldwide. Google’s search technologies connect millions of people around the world with information every day. Founded in 1998 by Stanford Ph.D. students Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Google today is a top web property in all major global markets. Google’s targeted advertising program endeavors to provide businesses of all sizes with measurable results, while enhancing the overall web experience for users.
