New York, New York - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - February 28, 2006 - The Search Engine Strategies Conference for 2006 has opened with a keynote address by Barry Diller, Chairman and CEO, IAC/InterActiveCorp, and Chairman of Expedia, Inc.
According to the event organizers, the conference traffic has increased, and the exhibitor base has grown by 30%. This year’s SES has attracted many of the nation’s top executives to the Hilton New York. More than 5,500 attendees will take part in the four-day event, which concludes Thursday.
Tim Weller, Chief Executive of Incisive Media plc. commented on the opening of the show, ”The search marketing industry continues to show tremendous momentum and the level of excitement at SES New York is proof. From the standing-room keynote and well-attended sessions, to the 30% increase in exhibitors, there is no doubt that the industry is thriving.”
The enormous happenings in search were all the buzz at the opening day of Search Engine Strategies Conference for 2006. Geoff Ramsey, CEO, eMarketer captivated attendees with shocking statistics and predictions within the search industry. Ramsey noted that search is only at 10% of its potential size and in 2005 $5 billion was spent on search with $10 billion predicted to be spent in 2009. In addition, Ramsey predicts that the three key themes that will drive the future of search are richer video, mobile devices, and smarter personalization.
Danny Sullivan, Search Engine Strategies Conference and Expo organizer commented on the opening, ”The record breaking attendance involves the already large number of search marketers who know and love our conference as well as a significant number of people entirely new to the space. The sheer number of people give a human face to the stats that declare how search is continuing to grow. SES, as the world’s largest gathering of search engine marketers and others involved in the industry, continues to be a hub for many of those in the search marketing community to learn, network and advance their skills.”
