Rackspace Managed Hostingtoday announced that it has successfully completed an examination inconformity with the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70),Type II report that was performed by independent auditor, Ernst &Young LLP.

SAS 70 is an internationally recognized auditingstandard developed by the American Institute of Certified PublicAccountants. A SAS 70 examination evaluates a service organization’scontrols as they relate to an audit of the financial statements of itscustomers and is often required by public companies and their auditors.Rackspace’s SAS 70 certification enables the company to further itsexpansion in the enterprise market by delivering certification of thecontrols needed for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

Rackspace’sprocesses, procedures and controls have been formally reviewed,evaluated and meet SAS 70 standards. The audit evaluated Rackspace’scontrols related to service delivery and operations, infrastructuremaintenance, customer implementation, change management, backup ofprograms and data files and logical and physical data center access.
