Register.com, Inc., a New-York based provider of global domain registration and Internet services, today announced the release of a Data Backup Service, which serves as an automated back up web based tool that eliminates the need to manually switch media while at the same time storing multiple days of data offsite with 24×7 access to files.
According to the company, Data Backup is the first non-domain related service for Register.com. Like all of the Company’s offerings, the data backup service is designed to meet the needs of small organizations and individual users. The company goes on to claim that the data backup service takes as little as 5 minutes to install, and updates are run automatically. The service is currently available for a free 30-day trial.
“The statistics are overwhelming: 1 in 4 PC users suffer data loss each year, costing businesses billions of dollars in lost information and productivity and too many small business owners aren’t taking the necessary steps to protect themselves against costly data loss,” said Peter A. Forman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Register.com. “Manually backing up computer files is one of those tasks that everyone knows they should do better - but don’t. For as little as $25 a year and in less than 5 minutes, with Register.com’s Data Backup service, customers can schedule regular, unattended backups of their data without the hassle. They simply have no more excuses for not protecting their mission critical and valuable data.”
