New York, New York - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - May 7, 2007 - Information and media portal, NYTimes.com, has unveiled a new web site that will be dedicated to small business, including an online resource center, to create a comprehensive guide for entrepreneurs and general managers.
The new Small Business section includes weekly columns and features from Times journalists and trusted third party sources, including AllBusiness.com, Inc. Magazine and SmallBusiness.org, as well as a comprehensive Resource Center guide for readers seeking information on specific topics like management, innovation or legal issues.
Vivian Schiller, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the NYTimes.com offered, ”This new section will help small business owners make better decisions, work smarter and keep up with the latest information related to their field and business community. Advertisers have long been asking for ways to reach the small business community and now we’ve given them a powerful new platform that aggregates all of the great reporting we do in this area as well as carefully selected partner content.”
Online-only columns will include:
- Entrepreneurial Edge by James Flanigan, an extension of his monthly column that runs in The Times, as well as a series of his notebook/blog-style items.
- In the Hunt by Brent Bowers, a weekly column that scrutinizes the changing universe of small business and the colorful characters who inhabit it.
- Shifting Careers by Marci Alboher, a weekly column about the way careers are shifting.
- Tool Kit by Paul Brown, an invaluable resource to the small business community, will appear twice monthly. Tool Kit will cover articles, books, blogs, conferences, seminars and podcasts that are essential to the small business community.
The Small Business Resource Center, a collection of topic pages, will feature: Start-Ups; Finance and Capital; Marketing; Sales; E-Commerce; Human Resources; Legal Issues; Retail and Franchising; and Technology and Operations. Each topic page serves as a hub for news, archival information, how-to guides and recommended links to other resources that help small business owners make the most informed decisions. More categories will be added to the Resource Center in the coming months.
Third party content from AllBusiness.com, Inc.com and SmallBusiness.org will be integrated into the site. Permanent features to look for are the “Business tip of the Day” from AllBusiness.com, and weekly videos and daily entrepreneurial news items from Inc.com.
The new Small Business section provides advertisers opportunities to reach an even more engaged audience of business decision-makers. Launch advertisers include: American Express, AT and T, Hewlett-Packard and FedEx. Advertiser benefits include:
- Increased engagement with a more connected, niche audience and
- More ad impressions and new sponsorship opportunities with the addition of thousands of new pages.
