Managing your own home page complete with affiliated e-mail address now becomes more secure than ever - and free of charge*.

Since 12 May 2005, T-Online has equipped all its home page packageswith complimentary* spam and virus protection for the hostingmailboxes. With launch of spam and virus protection for the individualmailbox, holders of home pages can now efficiently protect domainmailboxes too against unwelcome mass e-mails, as well as computerviruses and worms. “With this extra added feature we are rounding outthe service for our home page customers,” says T-Online board memberThomas Hille. “In the future, designing your own Internet presence willbecome even simpler and, above all, more secure.”

With the spam and virus protection, domain mailboxes can be kept cleansimply and securely. The virus protection software automatically checksincoming e-mails for covert viruses, worms and Trojan horses. Knownrisk sources are automatically deleted. The tool will deliver”sanitized” e-mails bearing the sender’s name, the reference line andthe virus name. The virus protection software is updated twice dailyand there is an instant update following a virus attack.

With the spam protection, the domain mailbox is not only more secure, but more orderly as well. The software filters messages arriving in themailbox and dependably detects spam. In “Preferences”, the host - e.g.the proprietor of the home page - personally selects whether theunwanted messages in the reference line are to be flagged as spam, orimmediately filed in a separate folder within the mailbox.
