Q9 Networks Inc., a provider of outsourced Web Hosting Internet infrastructure services, yesterday announced the expansion of its downtown Toronto data centre.
The Toronto data centre opened in October 2000. The expansion adds capacity of approximately 300 cabinet equivalents and services include physical space, bandwidth and managed products that address requirements for network security, data storage and disaster recovery.
The new expansion is secure, equipped with biometric security systems, video surveillance, on-site security officers and anti-hostage entrances. It operates independently of base building services with highly redundant power, HVAC and fire-suppression systems.
“Q9 reaches an important milestone today with this announcement,” says Osama Arafat, CEO, Q9 Networks. “This expansion has allowed us to add capacity in the downtown core where demand continues to be strong for Q9’s services. By leveraging some of the existing infrastructure of our Toronto data centre, we’ve been able to keep operational cost increases to a minimum.”
