C I Host, a leading Web host and Internetsolutions provider, will open a data center nine minutes from Manhattan in2005.

“The expansion will accommodate the needs of our colocation customers andexpand our portfolio of geographic-specific services,” said ChristopherFaulkner, CEO of C I Host. “We’ll offer services to SMBs usually onlyavailable to larger companies, and at prices they can afford.”

The 10,000-square-foot Newark facility will have a direct, private fiberconnection to the London facility enabling private data transfer. “For top speed, reliability and security, data flowing between thesecenters will pass on a private C I Host network, not public Internet,”Faulkner said.

Enhanced geographic-specific services include disaster recovery solutions, data backup services, geographic load balancing, data warehousing andredundancy.

SMBs will benefit from having greater access to geographic contentdistribution, load balancing and redundant locations.

“We will introduce enterprise services to SMB owners and give them accessto service levels and features they never thought possible,” Faulkner said.”Normally these services are reserved for customers paying more. With us, SMBcustomers can have servers in Newark, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and SanJose, or any combination of these, for under $1,000 monthly.”
