Web Hosting News: Interland Offers Optimized Versions of RedHat Enterprise Linux

Interland (Nasdaq: INLD), a leading provider of Web hosting and online services for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today the immediate availability of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES and AS v. 3 operating systems, and its plans to support Red Hat Linux up to and including Red Hat Linux 9 through Summer 2004.

As part of the release, Interland has optimized the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems for its customers by adding specific tools and components to speed setup and enhance both security and performance in a Web server environment.

Interland’s managed dedicated Linux customers can now take advantage of a customized version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES and AS v. 3 designed specifically to function as a secure, high performing Linux hosting environment. Interland’s versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux removes some of the standard installation functions optimizing the operating systems for even better performance in an Internet serving environment.

For developers and resellers with applications based on specific configurations and settings on the full Linux operation system, Interland also offers the standard versions of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES and AS.

The optimized version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES is now included with Interland’s Linux based High Performance Plans. Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS is available for an additional fee.
