Web Hosting Provider Verio Picks MX Logic for Email Protection

MX Logic, Inc. (www.mxlogic.com) announced that Verio (www.verio.com), a subsidiary of NTT Communications selected the MX Logic Email Defense Gateway - Service Provider Edition to deliver comprehensive email defense services to new shared hosting customers and its existing U.S.-shared hosting customer base.

The Email Defense Gateway helps ensure that spam, unwanted content and attachments are blocked-and that viruses, worms and other email threats such as fraud and phishing scams never enter a service provider’s network or reach its end-user customersâ€”because they are blocked at the perimeter, before they can enter the network.

Partnering with MX Logic, Verio, the largest operator of websites for businesses and a leader in delivering global IP solutions to small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), will offer the Verio Email Defense Solution to provide enhanced customer security with reliable and comprehensive messaging protection, while significantly reducing spam-related network, server and storage costs.

Verio will also add enhanced features and functionality, including anti-virus protection, to its Email Defense Solution.

“Spam is no longer just an electronic nuisance that companies can simply ignore. It has become a costly and dangerous technology issue for companies of all sizes, threatening the security of their networks, as well as employee productivity,” said Gwenael Hagan, vice president of product strategy for Verio.

Additionally, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) with one million subscribers and an average of 65 percent spam in its email network will incur an annual cost of $3 million, or $0.25 per user per month.
