San Diego, California - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - October 28, 2005 - San Diego webhosting provider, Aplus.Net, has introduced a new offering to its customers - the Media Wiki. The Media Wiki is a web-based design and editing tool that allows multiple users to collaborate on the same project.
The new product is licensed under the GNU Public License, and is the same system that serves popular collaborative sites such as Wikipedia.org.
The Media Wiki is an application that enables users to create and edit web content collaboratively by simply using an Internet browser. Created in 1995, the Wiki software system has been used in such popular websites as the Web Encyclopedia, Wikipedia.org, as well as the wiki based dictionary, Wiktionary, and the quotation source, WikiQuote among many others. What is especially convenient about the product is that a user can edit web pages online and check the results on the spot – there is no need to upload or use FTP.
According to Ivan Vachovsky, CEO of Aplus.NET, ”At Aplus.Net, our goal is to release cutting-edge technologies that are also intuitive and simple for our customers to learn and use. The Media Wiki is a great example. We realize that many of our customers do not want to spend their time learning advanced technical intricacies, so we do our best to provide them with easy yet effective tools.”
The Media Wiki is available immediately to most of Aplus.Net’s web hosting customers at no extra charge from the ”web design” section of the web hosting Control Panel. The Control Panel has over 80 additional features and is a part of Aplus.Net’s web hosting plans.
