In its recent review of five major site search vendors, WebSideStory was ranked as one of the top choices for best overall capabilities. No other vendor ranked higher than WebSideStory in the overall scoring and WebSideStory was the only company to receive number 1s — the highest score available — in two individual scoring categories.

In the study, WebSideStory Search, the company’s award-winning hosted site search solution, was recognized for its strong merchandiser support, advanced search types, deep web analytics integration and reporting, and massively scalable hosted infrastructure, which supported an estimated 105 million searches in December 2005.

The ranking is the latest in a string of industry awards and recognition for WebSideStory’s site search solution over the past year. Last summer, JupiterResearch, another leading analyst firm, gave WebSideStory a top ranking among nine vendors for its site and commerce search solution. In September, KMWorld magazine named WebSideStory Search one of its trend-setting products for 2005. In January of this year, WebSideStory was named a finalist for best enterprise search engine in the 2006 Codie Awards presented by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA).

In its study released earlier this year, WebSideStory found that site search converted visitors into buyers at nearly three times the rate of average site users. During the last three months of 2005, the conversion rate for visitors using the search box on a web site was 7.54 percent — 2.7 times higher than the conversion rate for average site users (2.79 percent), according to the
