Scottsdale, Arizona - (Cheap Web Hosting Directory) - January 5, 2006 - Website hosting giant, GoDaddy.com, has planned a news conference, scheduled for later today, to announce its advertising plans for the 2006 Super Bowl.
According to GoDaddy.com Founder and President Bob Parsons, ”We have had tremendous interest from the media about whether GoDaddy.com will advertise in the 2006 Super Bowl. I have never backed out of the spotlight or been shy about speaking my mind. It’s time we share what’s happening.”
GoDaddy.com was at the center of controversy during last year’s Super Bowl, when the company aired an edgy commercial, which was a parody on censorship. The Fox Network canceled a scheduled second airing of the ad spot during the game because of pressure from the NFL.
The ensuing controversy resulted in more than $11 million in free publicity, according to multivision inc. The spot also earned Go Daddy a 51% Share of Voice, which some say is the largest “S.O.V.” attributed to any Super Bowl advertiser.
The spot also ranked #4 in the Top Ten Commercials of 2005, according to USA Today. GoDaddy.com’s marketing maneuver helped catapult the company to dominance in the industry.
According to the company, The Go Daddy Group now has more than 11 million domains in its portfolio. Go Daddy is also the leading shared hosting provider in North America.
Mr. Parsons is set to announce his plans for GoDaddy.com on Thursday, January 5, at 2:30 p.m. (Arizona time). The news conference will be held at The Go Daddy Group’s corporate headquarters, located at 14455 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, Arizona.
